Jerusalem is a city that calls out to be walked and can really only be experienced on foot. Walkers can meander through the labyrinthine streets, alleys and corridors, up on to rooftops or the city walls, or into shops and souqs selling souvenirs or household goods, clothes and food. It has welltrodden routes that are used every day to access its various sites of worship.

Guided tours lead tourists, visitors and pilgrims around the Old City along its symbolic walkways, intensively so at festive times; they are a feature of the city’s daily life. Inspired by the experience of the guided walks around the various venues in the Jerusalem Show’s first edition the previous year, the second Jerusalem Show took ‘walks in the city’ as its curatorial cue and inspiration.
